MN House, Alaçatı
Stone houses carry their own climate with them. At MN House we made that climate the main character of the interior instead of hiding it.
The traditional stone houses of Alaçatı are known for thick walls, deep window reveals and cool interiors. These traits are often treated as constraints for modern living; we took them as the starting point of the concept.
Stone was left exposed wherever possible. Natural timber, linen and handcrafted details sit alongside it, softening the harsh Aegean midday sun and spreading it gently indoors. Deep window niches became places to sit and to display.
At a villa scale of 380 m², the aim was a flexible plan that can host busy summer days as comfortably as quiet evenings.
