Emre Meriç
About
Emre Meriç is an Istanbul-based interior architect working with space, material and light, and the founder of FEINE.

Emre Meriç graduated from the Department of Interior Architecture at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University's Faculty of Architecture, and founded FEINE in 2014. Today, together with the FEINE team, we deliver projects in architectural design, interior architecture, turnkey delivery and bespoke furniture.
We have worked at very different scales: from residences on the Bosphorus to summer houses in Bodrum and Alaçatı, from a jewellery store in the Grand Bazaar to a bakery factory in Nicosia and an 18-metre motor yacht. Whatever the scale, our question stays the same: how can this space make the day of the person using it better?
We don't consider design finished at the drawing board. The value of an idea is measured by how well it survives on site and in the workshop. That is why we brought design, construction and bespoke production under one roof.
This site brings together work selected from Emre Meriç's perspective, along with notes and writing on design. For the studio's services and full project archive, please visit the FEINE website.
Principles we work by
- 01
Listen first
Every project starts by understanding the habits and expectations of the people who will use the space.
- 02
Proportion over trend
Timeless decisions for permanent surfaces; freedom for the things that can change.
- 03
Light is a material
Daylight and artificial light are part of the design from the very first sketch.
- 04
Details are finished on site
Intent on paper only becomes a real space if it survives construction.
